The dreaming
spires of Oxford will soon be in reach for customers of Tourist
Tracks, now that the city has signed up for its own set of digital
walking tours.
Oxford Information
Centre, based in the heart of this world-famous university city,
has signed an agreement with Tourist Tracks to create a set of walking
tours. The Oxford product will be launched by the end of March.
The tours will
cover all of Oxford's top visitor attractions including the university's
stunning architecture, the famous River Thames, and much more -
with an informative and entertaining commentary.
Tourist Tracks
tours are available to download from www.tourist-tracks.com, where
customers can also buy a CD version of the product. There is also
a map of the relevant destination to help visitors find their way
around.
In addition,
the Oxford tours will also be available by hiring pre-loaded MP3
players at the Oxford Visitor Centre in Broad Street. The players
will cost £6 to rent for half a day and the CD version of
the Oxford product will also be available at the visitor centre.
Tours director
Tim Gillett said: "Oxford was always going to high on our target
list once we had created our first product in Cambridge, so we are
delighted to hear that this famous university city has signed up
with Tourist Tracks."
Tourist Tracks'
Cambridge tours were launched late in 2005; the company is already
in talks with a host of other destinations including Canterbury,
Winchester, Bath, Liverpool and Manchester.
